"I probably
know members better than anyone. I keep up
to-date with the changes in their lives, whether it's their
health problems, or a change in family circumstances. I help
to make
sure that their needs are being met. I just love it! Our
members are such good fun, and I really can't imagine doing
anything else."
It is the
role of the volunteer keyworker to:
spend time
with new members on their first visit to the centre
introduce
new members to volunteers and other members
check with
the keyworker to make sure that members' needs and hopes are being
met
help to
organise outings and liaise with Scott Road staff regarding plans
up-date
Scott Road staff regarding volunteer numbers and any issues
involve
members in planning a programme of activities
take money
for lunches and outings and keep accurate records of monies
received
attend
bi-monthly staff meetings
attend
information-giving sessions as required
carry out
all tasks in line with Age Concern's operational manual
