Unpaid or voluntary posts -Trustee (Board of directors)
 

Age Concern is run by a team of trustees, or a board of directors. They are the employers and policy makers and have over all responsibility for:

1. making policy decisions, with the advice of paid staff

2. making sure that decisions comply with current legislation and good practice

3. making sure that the finances and accounting systems comply with current Company and Charity law,

4. recruiting and employing staff in accordance with current legislation
 

We are looking for people who:

  • have the skills or experience to help us to run and improve our organisation (or who are happy to be given help to do so)

  • are willing to contribute actively at meetings

  • will ask about things that you may not understand (in particular finances)

  • are prepared to take part in sub-committee meetings as required

  • have the time to read papers before attending meetings

  • accept that all discussions are confidential until a decision is reached

Please also note that:

  • You will need an Enhanced Disclosure check

  • You cannot be an undischarged bankrupt

Age Concern Glenrothes is a charity and a company limited by guarantee. This means that everything which we do has to meet the standards of the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) and those of Companies House.
