It is the role of our volunteers to help create a warm and welcoming environment for our members, and other volunteers. They help to make sure that our members are treated as individuals and are given choices. In addition to the carer's tasks, volunteer organisers:

  1. spend time with new members on their first visit to the centre

  2. introduce new members to volunteers and other members

  3. check with the keyworker to make sure that members' needs and hopes are being met

  4. help to organise outings and liaise with Scott Road staff regarding plans

  5. up-date Scott Road staff regarding volunteer numbers and any issues

  6. involve members in planning a programme of activities

  7. take money for lunches and outings and keep accurate records of monies received

  8. attend bi-monthly staff meetings

  9. attend information-giving sessions as required

  10. carry out all tasks in line with Age Concern's operational manual

Please note that we need to carry out an Enhanced Disclosure.
